On plains of brazil where ever there are termite mounts you can be sure to find an animal that loves to eat these juicey insects.For termites are one of the favourite foods for one of the strangest looking animals in the world.The Giant Anteater it has a small opening little more than a few millimetres wide at the end of it's long tubular snout.Up to 2 metres (6ft) long and weighing 40 to 140 pounds.It's mouth is only the width of a pencil but it can stretch back more than half a metre along that enormous snout.During the day and night the anteater's mouth is designed for one thing to seek and destroy ants and termites using powerful claws that can be four inches (10cm) long it can rip open a mount in minutes.All it has to do is roll out a long sticky tongue that can extend 60cm down a termite mount.The anteater can eat as much 35.000 and can flick it's tongue in and out 150 times a minute.
